The Boy Scouts of America has adopted a number of policies aimed at eliminating opportunities for abuse within the Scouting program. These policies focus on leadership selection and on placing barriers to abuse within the program.

New Local Tour Permit, Training Requirement
Effective January 1, 2009

ALL units must have at least one person who has taken the online course "Planning and Preparing for Hazardous Weather" on site, with their unit, anytime the unit leaves their home base. This course takes 30 minutes or less to complete and certainly should be taken by all leaders so we can "Be Prepared". Here is a link directly to the online learning page: http://olc.scouting.org A copy of the new tour permit can be found on the National web site with the following link: http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/34426.pdf

Beginning January 1, 2009 only the new tour permit will be accepted.

Could this possibly be a Scout's tent at summer camp?
